The Filling Station

January 19, 2010

As I have said in earlier post, Miami is a pan-Latin city. There are lots of places with Latin food. Once in a while, it is nice to have some genuine American comfort food. The Filling Station (95 SE 2nd St, Miami, FL 33131) is located in downtown, less than a block away from the Bank of America building. The inside reminds you of a homey diner.

The menu is extensive with so many different types of sandwiches and burgers with different types of toppings. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of my sandwich, but it was a burger with pulled pork, pepper jack cheese, and BBQ sauce. I can only say that it was an amazing burger. My buddy had a burger with provolone cheese, genoa salami, and pesto mayo. All burgers come with tater tots, which reminded me of grade school.

They have a special burger, called the Howard’s Big Mac Truck, a cheddar burger with fried onions and pickles, which I will have to go back for and try.

Note: This place is only opened from 11:00-3:30PM, so get there during lunch!
