Key Deer

February 4, 2010

That deer is not scared of me

Next time you go down to the keys, slow down, and look around the Sugarloaf Key to the Bahia Honda Key area for the infamous Key Deer. These deer are endangered and are known only to inhabit this small section of the keys. They are smaller than the usual deer and they are less afraid of humans. In fact, I was able to get right next to them and pet them. In order to get to know them further, go check out the National Key Deer Refuge.

How may I get in contact with the source of the photo of the key deer shown on your web page?
