Sugarcane Raw Bar and Grill

February 8, 2010

The creators of Sushi Samba Dromo (600 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139) opened up a new restaurant in the midtown area called Sugarcane Raw Bar and Grill (3250 NE 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33127).

As you walk in, you can see the incredible amount of detail they spent on the décor of the place. Their bar is part outdoor and part indoor. They have these gigantic, artistic fans on the ceiling that adds to the beauty of the restaurant.

This Latin-Asian fusion restaurant has three different “styles” (aka kitchens), a raw bar, hot kitchen, and their charcoal grill. All foods come in tapas style, therefore the plates will be smaller, however you will get a chance to try out different types of dishes. I happen to stop by and tried a couple of tiraditos and their tapas off the grill. I recommend their squid from the charcoal grill; it is perfectly tender without any notion of overcooked rubberiness.

They also have an extensive rum bar. If you are a rum connoisseur, this is the place to go.

I hear there are good happy hour specials in which I may go to. The food here is good, the service here is amazing, but at the end the price is still similar to South Beach.

(I will have to stop by there one more time to add on to this post)
